Catwalk and photography awards celebrate 50 years of the Francesco Group
The Francesco Group Business and Photographic Awards 2019 was always set to be an elaborate affair. With 410 guests in attendance, colleagues from across its franchises joined together to celebrate the Group’s 50th year of business with a catwalk show, banquet dinner, awards presentation and afterparty.
Ashlie Nevin, Banqueting Sales Manager for the Vox said: “The two founding partners of Francesco Group were in attendance, so this was the perfect opportunity for their team to show them how the company had grown as well as the talent within the Group. This was an event that was going to incorporate many different elements, so it was important for myself and the venue team to be in constant communication with the client team to deliver the best event possible!”
Owned and run by the Italian Dellicompagni family, as with most things Italian, the Francesco Group hairdressing brand is stylish, luxurious and unique in style. Therefore, the premier feel and location of the Vox complimented the business perfectly.
A molecular cocktail and canape reception set things off, with the venue’s floor to ceiling windows offering guests a fantastic evening view of the NEC Campus whilst they networked amongst displays of photographic award entries. The molecular cocktails were very well received, and the additional entertainment by a Saxophonist created a really nice, relaxed vibe to start the evening.
“The Vox had the wow factor! The reception area, views overlooking the lake and the vast amount of space closed the deal for us. The location was also key in securing the venue – having an onsite hotel and parking facilities along with great rail links was a bonus as guests were travelling from all over the UK, from Manchester to Dorset!” said Kate Fox, PA to Managing Director, Anya Dellicompagni.
Recognising the talent within the business was an integral part of the celebrations, so a creative hair show was choreographed and presented, complete with catwalk in Vox Suites 3, 4 & 5. Delivered by the #FG Creatives Hair Team with production and room dressing provided by LemonZest Events, the pre-dinner Show provided the opportunity to showcase the team’s creative hairstyles and the Group’s new branded imagery – bringing the images to life on stage! The versatility of the venue also meant that Vox Suite 1 could be transformed into a self-contained dressing room for models, so looks could be kept under wraps until the catwalk show began.
“As told to me by the client ‘Hairdressers like to party, so food never really plays a big part in events!’” said Nevin. “We therefore delivered a simple yet tasty menu, with a vegetarian alternative for the main, along with a selection of three shots desserts to streamline the service. We understood that their guests are always keen to fast forward to the awards announcements, so this selection served the client’s schedule well.”
After a quick turnaround, the evening was concluded with an afterparty and a presentation of guest goodie bags, relating to both hair and the Francesco Group journey.
Fox concluded: “The Vox was the venue of choice for our event. The location was perfect due to a number of elements, and visually the venue is outstanding; from the view of the lake to the spacious, contemporary setting makes it a perfect foundation to build on.
“The Event’s Team at the Vox were an integral part of delivering such a successful event and we definitely look forward to working with them again in the future!”
